3 Vital Self Confidence Tricks

If you want to master your business you will have to master yourself first.

Everyone feels anxious and self-conscious at times, it is a human impulse, but here are my three top tips to help give you greater self confidence.

1) When the anxiety has started, choose an object nearby and start to study it in great detail. An example of this might be a window shelf, look at the textures, shades and colour, really focus on it as hard as you can. This may sound crazy, but focusing elsewhere takes the attention away from you.

2) If you are in a social scenario then a great way to get self confidence is to focus on what the exact purpose of your situation is. With a direct focus you will be surprised at how much more in control and confident you will feel.

Possible reasons include:

- find out if you like the other people present
- make others feel comfortable
- find out some information
- make business contacts
- and so on…

3) Speak to yourself as you would to others - for example, if you spill some wine on the sofa, and you say to yourself “you are such a stupid fool”. would you say that if your friend spilled the wine?

Don’t be too hard on yourself, we all make mistakes. What use is the above comment? is it going to help you not spill wine in the future? probably not, if anything it will make you more nervous next time.

So try these 3 self confidence tricks and keep practicing them.
